Pair with Micro-Steps
Start a Hyperfocus session on a single micro-step from the Micro-Stepper. The session ends when the step is done — momentum, not endurance.
ADHD focus app
ADDMind's Hyperfocus mode is the iPhone focus app built for ADHD — a gentle distraction-free timer, a calm exit, optional micro-affirmations, and a Lock Screen Live Activity so you can step away from the screen.
What Hyperfocus does
When you enter Hyperfocus mode, the rest of the app disappears. You see the task you chose, a soft circular timer, and a calming background gradient. Notifications are paused. The whole experience is engineered to protect a state of flow, not interrupt it.

Lock your phone. The timer stays on the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island. You can step away from the device — often the whole point of focus mode.
The session ends with a short affirmation, not a productivity score. Free users get a curated library; Pro adds Gemini-generated, task-aware affirmations.
Anonymous body-doubling
Body-doubling is a research-backed ADHD strategy: focus tends to come easier when you can sense someone else working alongside you. ADDMind’s "Focus Together" surfaces an anonymous count of how many other users are in a Hyperfocus session right now — no names, no chat, no profiles.
It’s a soft signal, off by default in Explorer mode, completely opt-in. When it’s on, you’ll see a small number on the Hyperfocus screen. When it’s off, you won’t.
Common questions
Standard focus timers (Forest, Pomodoro apps) assume the friction is in 'sitting still long enough.' For ADHD brains, the friction is usually 'starting at all,' followed by 'staying engaged without burning out.' ADDMind's Hyperfocus mode optimizes for both — it pairs with the Micro-Stepper so you start with a small, concrete action, and it surfaces optional micro-affirmations during the session to keep the dopamine reward present without nagging.
Loosely. You can pick session lengths (5, 15, 25, 45 minutes), so the classic 25-minute pomodoro is right there. But ADDMind doesn't enforce strict pomodoro cycles or punish you for going over. Hyperfocus is a tool, not a discipline.
Yes. Hyperfocus uses an iOS Live Activity, so the timer stays visible on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. You can lock the phone, put it face-down, and the session continues. Critically, this means you can step away from the screen — which is often the whole point.
Focus Together is anonymous body-doubling. When you start a Hyperfocus session, the app can show how many other ADDMind users are focusing right now. No names, no chat, no profiles — just a soft signal that you're not alone. You can opt out completely; presence is off by default for Explorer (anonymous) users.
No. Free users get a small library of curated affirmations that surface at the end of a session. Pro users can opt into Gemini-generated affirmations that adapt to the task you just worked on. Everyone can disable affirmations entirely from Settings if they're not your thing.
