Brain dump app

A brain dump app that doesn't judge what you put in.

ADDMind's Brain Dump is the iPhone brain dump app built for ADHD — type or speak whatever's in your head, full sentences or fragments, and let the AI sort it into tasks, self-care, and 'let it go' in seconds.

Why brain dumping works

Working memory is the ADHD bottleneck. Brain Dump unloads it.

The cognitive load of holding 47 unfinished thoughts in your head is the thing causing the overwhelm. The fix isn't 'try harder to remember.' The fix is externalizing — getting the thoughts out where you can see them — and ADDMind makes that frictionless.

Type or speak

Open Brain Dump, tap the mic or just start typing. Voice transcription is on-device — audio never leaves your phone.

Don’t worry about format

Fragments are fine. Repetition is fine. Tangents are fine. The AI handles messy text; you don’t have to clean anything up first.

Tap “Organize”

Google Gemini sorts the dump into tasks, self-care, and “let it go” items. You review and accept what you want. The rest disappears.

What happens after the dump

Sorted items flow into the rest of the app.

Brain Dump isn't a standalone capture tool — its output is wired into the rest of ADDMind. Tasks become Micro-Stepper candidates. Self-care items become Energy Battery suggestions. 'Let it go' items get a quiet, dignified exit.

The whole point of getting the thoughts out is so you can do something with them. ADDMind treats Brain Dump as the front door to a sorted, energy-aware, shame-free task system — not as a place where lists go to die.

Common questions

Quick answers.

What is a brain dump and why does it help ADHD?

A brain dump is the act of externalizing every thought that's competing for working-memory attention — tasks, worries, ideas, half-finished sentences. For ADHD brains, working memory is a known bottleneck; getting thoughts out of your head and into something visible reduces the cognitive load that causes overwhelm. It's a research-backed strategy, not a productivity hack.

How is ADDMind's brain dump different from a Note?

A blank note is a wall to climb. ADDMind's Brain Dump starts with a soft prompt, accepts voice or text, doesn't care about formatting, and — when you tap 'Organize' — runs the messy text through Google Gemini to produce a sorted list of tasks, self-care reminders, and 'let it go' items. You go from chaos to clarity without having to do the sorting yourself.

Can I do a voice brain dump?

Yes. ADDMind uses on-device speech recognition for voice brain dumps — audio never leaves your phone for transcription. The transcribed text is then optionally sent to Gemini for organization (which you can skip if you prefer to sort manually).

Does ADDMind read or store my brain dumps?

We don't read them. Brain dumps are stored in your private Firestore database under your user ID — only you can read them. We don't use brain-dump content to train AI models. Gemini receives only the prompt text needed to organize a single dump and Google does not retain that content beyond brief abuse detection. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Is the Brain Dump free?

Yes. The free tier includes up to 3 brain dumps per day. Pro removes the daily cap. Most users find 3/day plenty; the cap exists to keep our Gemini bill predictable while the app is in beta.
